Alamogordo Airport Visitor’s Guide

Formerly known as Alamogordo Municipal Airport, Alamogordo is a city owned public use airport that is located some four miles away from the city of Alamogordo – a city in Otero County, New Mexico, United States. Categorized as a general aviation airport by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the airport does not boast of being a landing site to any regional or transcontinental aviation player. The human traffic that passes through this airport stands at some 2,500 individuals per year. This is definitely a small airport on the scale of airports sizes, but it is the airport that serves the wider Alamogordo, New Mexico region.

The International Space Hall of Fame, the Hubbard Space Science Educational Facility, and the IMAX Dome theater are but some of the attractions that are contained within this museum.

The museum is operated by two volunteers, and this is a place that takes you back to a previous history in American history, thanks to the steam engine train. Transport at the airport

To see these sites as well as get to your destination, you will of course need some reliable mode of transport. There are basically three ways via which one can travel from the airport: using the bus, use of a taxi service, and lastly hiring a car hire. The most convenient of this is of course hiring a car from a car rental agency. Due to the size of the airport, the players in the car rental market at Alamogordo airport are independent players. The airport does host one or two of these. The standard charge that is levied on whatever car that you lease has a price that is inclusive of taxes, insurance, as well as a fuel charge.  For as little as $ 5 per day, you can hire a car from any one of these cheap car hire firms. Ensure that you book online prior to landing so that you can enjoy the discounts offered.
